FREE Things to Do in New Port Richey

We’ve been living in the City of New Port Richey for almost three years now and we love it here! We are very involved in the local community. We live ten minutes from the Downtown area and go there often for events. Here are some of the free things to do around town in New Port Richey.

VISIT A MURAL

Murals are a great way to tour a city. If you turn right onto Main Street in Downtown New Port Richey from 19, this mural will be on the right hand side as you head east.

KIDS YOGA

Every Wednesday at 11am is Kids Yoga at the New Port Richey Library.

TIDES OF TIME

Eleven bronze plaques are placed strategically on various buildings along Main Street. Each piece is accompanied by a QR code that links you to a video detailing the history of the building. The placement of the pieces will guide visitors on a tour through the city.

CHESS CLUB

Every Monday afternoon from 4:30-6:30PM, there is Chess Club at the New Port Richey Library.

RIDE THE TROLLEY

Four days out of the week, Thursday-Sunday, there are two free trolleys running a loop through Downtown New Port Richey. There’s a main stop at the New Port Richey garage off Main street on the left side behind some businesses before you hit 19. We usually get off the trolley near Richey Suncoast Theatre along Nebraska avenue.

HOMESCHOOL MEETUP AT THE LIBRARY

Every Monday at 1PM there is a homeschool meetup at New Port Richey Library.

SIMS PARK

Here you will find a playground, splashpad, walking paths and an amphitheater area. Sims Park is located right next to the businesses in Downtown New Port Richey. You could even walk to the library from the park.

LIBRARY

The City of New Port Richey Library has all kinds of great scheduled calendar activities. There are also Pasco County libraries in the area too.

LOCAL THEATER

Audition for a show at Richey Suncoast Theatre in Downtown New Port Richey. There’s no cost to audition and likely you will spend little to nothing if you get a role in a show. The theater always needs volunteers, who get to watch shows for free. With a library card you can get free tickets to theater shows.

STAND Above the Influence is a Coalition within the Alliance for Healthy Communities. STAND is made up of youth bringing substance misuse awareness to the community. Attend a meeting to see how you can get involved and make a difference.
